Wyatt's Newborn Session [Orange County Newborn Photographer]

I had a blast doing Wyatt's newborn session. He was such a good sport and saved all of his accidents for his big sister. But she was a pro and even while covered in pee we still got a beautiful shot of them together. I love newborn photography, you never know how the session is going to go but those sweet images are so worth it.

Congratulations B family!

Self Portrait

I'm 32 weeks now and getting pretty big. Kate and I were a little bored the other day so we did a  self portrait. It's not how I had invisioned but it still turned out pretty neat. I couldn't find my tripod (how do you lose a big tripod?) so I had to balance the camera and set the timer. Kate thought it was so funny that we had to keep running back and forth to reset the timer. Needless to say, I've now added a wireless remote trigger to my shopping list. I would typically use a reflector in a lighting situation like this but I like the moody shadows this time. It helps hide the fact that I wasn't wearing makeup. *grin*

What are your best self portrait tips?

Chic Magazine Cover Entry

Chic Magazine is having a cover contest for their next issue. I'm always up for a challenge and love to enter any photo contest I can. It helps me grow to see the competition. And although it's probably a long shot, I'd love to win not only the cover but the Epiphany bag! *drool*  It was so hard to choose an image but I finally settled on this one.  Fingers crossed...  :)

They are a fabulous resource for photographers so if you haven't checked them out yet, then head on over!

Jacob's modeling debut!

I recently photographed Jacob in a darling monkey hat by the Late Night Hooker (her shop name always makes me smile).   :)   She makes the cutest animal hats! I've been eyeing the lamb and cow hat.

She also sent me a grey flapper hat with interchangable flowers that I photographed on little Charlie. In this image you can't really see the flower because Charlie is at that fun age where sitting still is impossible and it's much more fun to take off a hat than leave it on.

You can like The Late Night Hooker on facebook and let her know I sent you.
Check out little Jacob on her Etsy listing and while you are there you should buy one of these fabulous hats!

Easter Session - [Orange County Child Photographer]

I took my daughter and neice out for a fun Easter session on Saturday. We caught the "golden hour" and I'm loving the sun drenched look of these images. :)  Hope your Easter was wonderful!
